Staff Summary
· On July 10, 2012, the County Board authorized acceptance of additional ESG funds from the State of Illinois as a result of changes to the program at both the state and federal levels.
· The original resolution called for a subsequent joint resolution to be presented authorizing an emergency appropriation once notice of award amount was provided.
· The Illinois Department of Commerce & Economic Opportunity, pursuant to federal guidelines, has broken the award into multiple parts.
· The first part of the award for $5,733 was appropriated pursuant to Board Resolution on October 9, 2012.
· This second part of the award is for $9,555 and will be used for administration of ESG projects, both by Lake County and subrecipient organizations, and for the Homeless Management Information System, also known as ServicePoint.

WHEREAS, the Lake County Board passed a resolution on July 10, 2012 accepting additional Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG) funds from the State of Illinois; and
WHEREAS, the resolution called for a subsequent joint resolution to be presented with the requisite funding amounts in an emergency appropriation; and
WHEREAS, Lake County Community Development has received notice of the second part of the award and amount from the Illinois Department of Commerce & Economic Opportunity.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that an emergency appropriation in the amount of $9,555 is hereby authorized in revenue account 740-2940010-45040-000-000-000-29400 with a corresponding amount in expense account 740-2940010-79950-000-000-000-29400.
