Staff Summary
· The County owns and operates a 750,000 gallon reinforced concrete water storage reservoir on Almond Road south of Washington Street.
· The reservoir and pump station provides Lake Michigan water to the Wildwood Water System and the roof of the reservoir is in need of replacement.
· The County received eight (8) sealed bids for this work.
· A-1 Roofing Company is the lowest responsive, responsible bidder in the amount of $88,693; seven (7) other bids received ranged from $71,989 to $119,895 and one (1) bidder submitted a non-responsive bid.
· This resolution authorizes and directs the County Purchasing Agent to execute a contract with A-1 Roofing Company, Elk Grove Village, IL in the amount of $88,693 for the Almond Road Reservoir Roof Project.

R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, the County of Lake (County) owns and operates the Almond Road Reservoir in the Wildwood Water System; and
WHEREAS, the roof of the Almond Road Reservoir is in need of replacement; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with Section 4-102 of the Lake County Purchasing Ordinance, bids were called for by publication for the Almond Road Reservoir Roof Project; and
WHEREAS, subsequent to said publication, invitations to bid were extended to seventeen (17) contractors; and
WHEREAS, eight (8) sealed bids were received and publicly opened in the office of the Public Works Department on Tuesday, August 24, 2010, at 2:00 p.m., and
WHEREAS, A-1 Roofing Company is the lowest responsive, responsible bidder in the amount of $88,693.00; seven (7) other bids received ranged from $71,989 to $119,895, and one (1) bidder submitted a non-responsive bid.
