Title
Resolution adopting the multi-jurisdictional 2012 Lake County All Natural Hazards Mitigation Plan (ANHMP).
Staff Summary
· The plan is required to be updated every 5 years by the Federal Emergency Management Agency to be eligible for Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) hazard mitigation grant funds.
· The plan addresses natural hazards that may impact Lake County, such as floods, severe storms (e.g. wind, snow), tornadoes, and identifies mitigation measures that can be undertaken to reduce the impact of hazards to our residents and the operational services we provide.
· The plan update was developed through a cooperative effort between Lake County Emergency Management Agency, Lake County Stormwater Management Commission, and extensive community participation.
· The ANHMP is one of several key components of Lake County’s overall emergency management program. The County’s Emergency Operations Plan (EOP), County Department Emergency Plans, County Continuity of Operations Plan, County training and exercise program, and County ANHMP are integral parts of our overall preparedness and response effort.
· The cooperators group will meet on an annual basis to review plan objectives and identify program and projects goals.
