ORDINANCE
WHEREAS, the County Board adopted the Lake County Curfew Ordinance for unincorporated Lake County on December 18, 1961 and incorporated Chapter 131 into the Lake County Code; and
WHEREAS, 55 ILCS 5/5-1078, statutorily bestows the capability to a County Board to establish a curfew for minors applicable throughout such county, except within the corporate limits of any city, village, or incorporated town; and
WHEREAS, the Lake County Sheriff's Office, is making recommendations for changes to the Ordinance to clarify certain provisions and provide for administrative adjudication as an enforcement mechanism; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to 55 ILCS 5/5-43005, specified counties including, Lake County, were given authority to create a system of administrative adjudication for any violation of a county ordinance; and
WHEREAS, on September 13, 2011, the Lake County Board adopted the Lake County Administrative Adjudication Ordinance.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that the amendment of this ordinance, attached as Exhibit A hereto and made part of this Ordinance, be adopted and be made effective May 1, 2015.
