R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, the Lake County Division of Transportation participated in the joint procurement process conducted by the State of Illinois, Department of Central Management Services, for the acquisition of ice control salt for the winter season of 2011-2012; and
WHEREAS, it is estimated that 16,000 tons of ice control salt will be required for the 2012-2013 winter season; and
WHEREAS, the contract for salt for the Division of Transportation provided by the State of Illinois Department of Central Management Services for the 2011-2012 winter season will be extended for the winter season of 2012-2013.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by this Lake County Board, that there is hereby appropriated $1,250,000 of Motor Fuel Tax funds for the acquisition of ice control salt for the winter season of 2012-2013 by said joint procurement, and designated as Section 13-00000-00-GM.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this appropriation be processed by the County Engineer for final approval of the Illinois Department of Transportation in accordance with the "Agreement of Understanding" between the Illinois Department of Transportation and Lake County, dated January 22, 2003.
