Body
WHEREAS, the Illinois Criminal Justice Information Authority recently announced the availability of federal funding to support juvenile pre-employment programs at county juvenile probation departments; and

WHEREAS, the Nineteenth Judicial Circuit has a history of providing limited employment services for juveniles in the FACE-IT program and therefore sought the available funding to formalize and expand services to juvenile probation; and

WHEREAS, the Nineteenth Judicial Circuit has received $39,852 in Juvenile Accountability Block Grant funds that require a $4,428 match; and

WHEREAS, matching funds are available in the Probation Services Fee Fund 250; and

WHEREAS, the funding will be used to contract with local agencies and employers to provide youth with basic job and employment skills and paid internships; and

WHEREAS, the County Board must authorize the execution of a program agreement and an emergency appropriation of $44,280 to accept this grant and establish a juvenile pre-employment program.
