Ordinance amending certain prior rate ordinances for the use and service of certain water and sewer systems of Lake County, Illinois.
Staff Summary
· The rate ordinance establishes all water and sewer user rates, as well as connection fees for the County's water and sewer systems.
· The ordinance is revised periodically to modify rates and fees, as necessary.
· This proposed ordinance provides three modifications.
· The first modification increases the water rate for CLCJAWA service areas from $5.75 per 1,000 gallons to $5.88 per 1,000 gallons and is a result of a rate increase by CLCJAWA effective May 1, 2012.
· The second modification provides for the Aqua Illinois rate adjustment recently approved by the Illinois Commerce Commission that increases retail water rates for Glennshire customers in the Hawthorn Woods area from $5.43 to $6.89 (26.9%) and from $3.23 to $6.89 (113%) for Forest Lake customers.
· The third modification includes the addition of a Septage Disposal Fee and a Drying Pad Fee for disposal services which were added to the County's Mill Creek Water Reclamation Facility as part of the recent expansion Project.
