· The County has been allocated federal funds for work on the Illinois Route 120 corridor and IDOT administers all federal highway funds.
· The allocated amounts will be utilized to improve the Illinois Rte 120 corridor by improvements to the intersection of Gilmer Road and Illinois Route 120.
· This agreement provides for the County to receive up to 80% reimbursement for the costs of Phase I preliminary engineering.

R E S O L U T I O N

WHEREAS, the Unified Vision Plan for Illinois Route 120 was adopted on October 14, 2009; and

WHEREAS, a portion of the Unified Vision Plan for Illinois Route 120 was an improved intersection of Gilmer Road and Illinois Route 120; and

WHEREAS, Gilmer Road, County Highway 26, is a designated route on the County highway system and in the Illinois Route 120 corridor; and

WHEREAS, for the free flow of traffic at the intersection of Gilmer Road and Illinois Route 120 and such adjacent intersections, as appropriate, is beneficial to the safety and welfare of the State of Illinois and the County as a whole; and

WHEREAS, the State of Illinois and Lake County believe it would be beneficial to the safety and welfare of the motoring public if the intersection of Gilmer Road and Illinois Route 120, and such adjacent intersections, as appropriate, could be improved by realignment and new traffic signals; and

WHEREAS, federal funds totaling $1,496,047, and requiring a 20 percent local share match of the total cost, were granted to Lake County in 2008 and 2009 for work in the Illinois Route 120 corridor; an...
