Body

WHEREAS, the Lake County Health Department is authorized to enforce a local ordinance regulating Animal Care and Control to protect the public’s health and safety; and

WHEREAS, the ordinance that authorizes this enforcement, Lake County Board of Health Ordinance Article X (Animal/Rabies Control) also authorizes the Lake County Health Department to assess and collect fees for rabies tags and/or other services described in this ordinance; and

WHEREAS, these fees are established in Lake County Board of Health Ordinance Article XVII (Animal/Rabies Control Fees); and

WHEREAS, the Lake County Health Department is proposing amendments to Lake County Board of Health Ordinance Article XVII in conjunction with changes to Lake County Board of Health Ordinance Article X; and

WHEREAS, the proposed changes involve moving fee requirements from Article X to their proper location in Article XVII, the fee schedule; and

WHEREAS, the proposed changes include clarifications and corrections to the current ordinance; and

WHEREAS, the Lake County Board of Health has approved the proposed amendments to Lake County Board of Health Ordinance Article XVII; and

WHEREAS, the Lake County Board of Health has recommended that the proposed amendments to Lake County Board of Health Ordinance Article XVII be referred to the County Board for approval.
