Staff Summary

·      Change Orders that exceed 10% of the original contract amount must be reviewed and approved by the Public Works and Transportation and Finance and Administrative Committees.

·      This change order is associated with changes to the contract with Water Well Solutions for the project to abandon and seal three public water system wells which are no longer in service.

·      During review and permitting of the Countryside Well by the Lake County Health Department it was determined that an alternative sealing method was to be employed to assure proper protection of the groundwater aquifer.

·      This alternative method of sealing will increase the amount of the construction contract by $13,453, or 18.7%, from $72,009 to $85,462.
