Body
WHEREAS, the Veterans Assistance Commission (VAC) of Lake County provides veterans with winter clothing, food items and hygiene/toiletry items at it's annual Stand Down event; and
WHEREAS, the 2009 Stand Down occurred on October 20, 2009 and the VAC has been approved for a one-time grant totaling $7,000 from the U.S. Department of Labor to assist with a portion of expenses for the event; and
WHEREAS, there is no match requirement for this grant; and
WHEREAS, an emergency appropriation is necessary to formally accept this grant agreement; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the County Board of Lake County, Illinois that the acceptance and execution of a one-time $7,000 federal grant agreement by the U.S. Department of Labor for the Stand Down event held on October 20, 2009 to the Lake County Veterans Assistance Commission (VAC) is hereby approved; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that an emergency appropriation is hereby authorized in the FY 2009 VAC budget to revenue account 208-3700010-45334-000-000-000-37008, and expense account 208-3700010-73010-000-000-000-37008.
