Title

Committee Action approving 2009 Brownfield Grants Requests for Extensions

Staff Summary

In 2009 the County awarded Brownfield Remediation Grants to Highland Park ($100,000); North Chicago (two grants, $100,000 and 50,000); and Lake Zurich ($100,000).  The applicants will not be able to complete their projects within the one year specified in the Intergovernmental Agreements and are requesting extensions.

Written status reports have been submitted for all four projects and are attched.

Representatives from the municipalities will present brief updates to the Committee and answer questions.

If an extension is not granted for a particular project, the project will expire based on the date in the Intergovernmental Agreement.  Unspent funds will be unencumbered and returned to the Brownfield Fund.
