Staff Summary
• The Lake County Sheriff’s Office recommends the hourly rate of pay for part-time marine unit deputies be increased from $17.20 to $21.06 in order to establish internal equity between the part-time court security officers.
• The proposed increase in the hourly rate for the part-time marine unit deputies will not require an increase in budgeted dollars.
• The Sheriff’s Office will monitor the number of hours worked by all part-time marine unit deputies to ensure that costs do not exceed budgeted funds for the fiscal year 2016 marine unit season.

Your favorable consideration is requested to approve an hourly rate increase for the Part-Time Marine Unit Deputies so that their hourly rate is equitable to that of the Part-Time Court Security Officers.
Current Part-Time Marine Unit Deputy Hourly Rate: $17.20
Proposed Part-Time Marine Unit Deputy Hourly Rate: $21.06
The hourly rate increase will not change the dollar amount budgeted in the Marine Division Budget and will be controlled by the Sheriff’s Office through proper scheduling during regular hours of operation.
