Joint resolution executing a professional services agreement with Clark Dietz, Inc., Kenosha, Wisconsin in the amount of $73,665 for engineering services for the Vernon Hills New Century Town (NCT) Water Reclamation Facility (WRF) Blower Addition and Aeration Upgrades Project.
Staff Summary
· The Vernon Hills NCT WRF is a major wastewater treatment plant that provides services for the Villages of Vernon Hills, Mettawa, Indian Creek and unincorporated portions of Diamond Lake.
· This project includes construction engineering services for Biological Nutrient Removal (BNR), the addition of aeration blowers and upgrades to the aeration system.
· In accordance with the Lake County Purchasing Ordinance, a Statement of Interest was issued for nine separate engineering projects.
· Responses were received on February 7, 2014 from 16 firms and a selection committee interviewed four firms for this specific project.
· Clark Dietz, Inc. was determined to be the most qualified firm to provide professional engineering services related to the Vernon Hills NCT WRF Blower Addition and Aeration Upgrades Project. In addition, Clark Dietz performed the design engineering for this project.
· This resolution authorizes and directs the County Purchasing Agent to execute an Agreement for Professional Services with Clark Dietz, Inc. of Kenosha, Wisconsin in the amount of $73,665.

R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, the County of Lake owns, operates and maintains the Vernon Hills NCT Water Reclamation Facility (VHWRF) serving the South Central Lake Facilities Planning Area; and
WHEREAS, improvements and upgrades to the VHWRF are necessary to upgrade facilities and to satisfy regulatory requirements of the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (IEPA); and
