Staff Summary
* On January 27, 2015, a contract was issued to Wunderlich-Malec Services, Inc. for the construction and implementation of a SCADA system to communicate and collect data from remote Public Works sites to control centers at the water reclamation facilities.
* Change Order Number One removed several sites from the project, converted some sites from radio transmission to cellular communication and removed construction of a 190-foot communication tower resulting in a decreased cost of $322,085.
* Change Order Number Two added installation of a radio antenna at East Main Pump Station, converted additional radio sites to cellular communication and resolved data transfer problems at the Washington Street Storm Station resulting in an increased cost of $620.
* Change Order Number Three addressed additional time and materials to resolve data transfer problems to the Mill Creek water reclamation facility and the purchase of additional SCADA tag software licenses resulting in an additional cost of $94,330.
* In accordance with Article 8, Section 101(2) of the Lake County Purchasing Ordinance, these change orders were not reasonably foreseeable at the time the contract was signed.
* This resolution authorizes and directs the County Purchasing Agent to execute a contract change order with Wunderlich-Malec Services, Inc., reducing the original contract value by $227,150, from $1,146,751 to $919,601.
