RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO) has awarded the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) Rapid Response Grant with a budget of $350,000 with a grant term of June 1, 2025, through December 31, 2026; and
WHEREAS, the WIOA Rapid Response Grant is to serve workers impacted by lay-offs, plant closings and other dislocation events; and
WHEREAS, the WIOA Rapid Response Grant will be used to pay tuition, training wages, and supportive services.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that an emergency appropriation in the amount of $350,000 for the Workforce Development Department is hereby approved and that the WIOA Rapid Response Grant be accepted.
