Title

Illinois Department of Human Services – Substance Use Prevention Services, $24,000 – Grant Increase Approval – Kritz

Body

Lake County Health Department and Community Health Center received a $24,000 increase in grant funding from the Illinois Department of Human Services, Substance Use Prevention Services program. The period of performance is from July 1, 2025, to June 30, 2026. $10,000 will be appropriated in LCFY25, and the difference was accounted for in the LCFY26 budget. The purpose of the funding is to support prevention activities that reduce alcohol, marijuana, and other drug use among youth and young adults, as well as address the non-medical use of prescription drugs by all ages. This will fund postage and offset existing staff salary and fringe benefits.

Suggested Motion

To approve the Illinois Department of Human Services, Substance Use Prevention Services additional grant funding of $24,000 and emergency appropriate $10,000 for FY25.
