Staff Summary
· The Health Department, Public Works, Planning, the Branch Courts, Treasurer and Winchester House currently utilize armored car services for financial deposits.
· In February, 2005 Lake County approved a resolution to enter into a two-year contract with renewal options with United Armored Services, Broadview, Illinois, now known as Garda CL Great Lakes, Inc, Broadview for Armored Car Services.
· An invitation to bid was extended and no firms responded. Post-bid inquiries are being made of all prospective Armored Car Service providers and the requirement is being re-bid.
· There is a need to extend the current agreement with Garda CL Great Lakes, Inc., through July 31, 2010 in order to continue service and get a new contract in place.
· This change is germane to the original contract as signed and is in the best interests of the County.
· Currently, the contract costs approximately $30,000 per year.

1. In February, 2005 Lake County approved a Resolution to enter into a two-year contract with renewal options with United Armored Services, Broadview, Illinois, now know as Garda CL Great Lakes, Inc., Broadview for Armored Car Services.
2. The services are used by the Health Department, Public Works, Planning, the Branch Courts, Treasurer and Winchester House.
3. On April 22, 2010 sealed bids were opened for a new contract. No firms responded.
4. Post-bid inquiries are being made of all prospective Armored Car Service providers and the requirement is being re-bid.
5. There is a need to extend the current agreement with Garda CL Great Lakes, Inc., through July 31, 2010 in order to continue service and get a new contract in place. Garda CL Great Lakes, Inc., has agreed to this extension.
