Staff Summary
·      Native Landscape Maintenance 2014: Appropriation.
·      The County has planted many native landscape detention areas for various projects on the County highway system that require annual maintenance and care.
·      Before contracts for inspection and maintenance can be obtained and executed, an appropriation of $40,000 of Matching Tax funds is needed.

R E S O L U T I O N
 
WHEREAS, in recent years, improvements have been completed along various County highways, including the planting of native landscape detention areas, such as:
 
·      Rollins Road and Squaw Creek
·      Peterson Road and Behm Lane
·      Fairfield Road and Old McHenry
·      Butterfield Road between Illinois Route 176 and Lake St; and
      
WHEREAS, it would be beneficial to the safety and welfare of the motoring public if the native landscape detention areas along these County highways are properly maintained; and
 
WHEREAS, the native landscape inspection and maintenance will be completed by contractors.
 
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by this Lake County Board, that there is hereby appropriated $40,000 of Matching Tax funds for the maintenance of the native landscape along various County highways, and designated as Section 14-00000-14-GM.
