RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, State Line Road/Kenosha County Highway WG, from west of United States Highway 45 to United States Highway 41, runs along the Illinois and Wisconsin state line and is under the jurisdiction of Kenosha County; and
WHEREAS, there is an existing bridge on this section of State Line Road/Kenosha County Highway WG that carries the road over the Dutch Gap Canal; and
WHEREAS, the Federal Highway Administration requires a memorandum of understanding that confirms the ownership, maintenance, and inspection responsibilities for bridges on the state border; and
WHEREAS, Lake County, Illinois, Kenosha County, Wisconsin, the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, and the Illinois Department of Transportation are desirous of entering into a memorandum of understanding that confirms that Kenosha County, Wisconsin, and the Wisconsin Department of Transportation are responsible for the ownership, maintenance, and inspection of the State Line Road/Kenosha County Highway WG bridge over the Dutch Gap Canal, a draft copy of which is attached hereto.
