• The Dig Once Policy establishes a process for communication and coordination among County land departments regarding plans for underground projects.
• The Dig Once Policy coordinates underground projects across County departments to minimize community disruption and provide Internet Service Providers opportunities to coordinate their infrastructure work with planned projects.
• The Dig Once Policy will lead to more efficient broadband deployment which results in increased competition, furthering digital equity and inclusion efforts.
• This policy was developed using County Policy 1.1: Policy Making Framework, ensuring appropriate County departments and stakeholders had opportunity to review and provide comment.

RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, the Dig Once Policy establishes a process for communication and coordination among County land departments and stakeholders regarding plans for underground projects; and
WHEREAS, this policy will encourage the minimization of community disruption to impacted locations of underground projects; and
WHEREAS, the Dig Once Policy will lead to more competition, ultimately increasing digital equity and inclusion efforts; and
WHEREAS, this policy was developed using County Policy 1.1: Policy Making Framework, ensuring appropriate County departments and stakeholders had opportunity to review and provide comment.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that the attached Dig Once Policy document is hereby adopted and shall take effect immediately.
