R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Midlothian Road (County Highway 48) is a designated route on the county highway system; and
WHEREAS, Midlothian Road will be extended northerly from the existing Lake County fairground entrance to Moorehead Circle; and
WHEREAS, the free flow of traffic along Midlothian Rd is beneficial to the safety and welfare to the county as a whole; and
WHEREAS, as part of the Midlothian Rd extension, the Prairie Crossing Bike Path will be constructed on the west side of Midlothian Road from Peterson Road (County Highway 20) to Moorehead Circle; and
WHEREAS, right-of-way and/or easements need to be secured from the Canadian National Rail Road and the existing grade crossing needs to be improved; the final costs of which have yet been determined.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that there is hereby appropriated $3,750,000 of ¼% Sales Tax for Transportation and Public Safety funds for construction of a three lane roadway, a bike path and initial railroad improvements as part of the Midlothian Road Extension (from the existing county fair entrance northerly to Moorehead Circle) and d...
