Resolution on Zoning Case #3779 relating to general text amendments to the Lake County Unified Development Ordinance. Your Department of Planning, Building and Development has recommended that these amendments be adopted; on the motion to adopt the proposed text changes attached as Exhibit A, your Zoning Board of Appeals vote is 6 “Ayes” and 0 “Nays”; the Planning, Building and Zoning Committee recommends by a vote of 7 “Ayes” and 0 “Nays” the amendments attached as Exhibit A, as amended by Exhibit B, be adopted.
Staff Summary
· Following an initial Planning, Building and Zoning Committee review, the County Board directed the Zoning Board of Appeals on August 11, 2009 to conduct a public hearing on a series of proposed Amendments to the Unified Development Ordinance (UDO).
· A majority of the proposed amendments are “Housekeeping” amendments that either clarify or introduce minor changes to the current UDO provisions. “Substantive” amendments include the introduction of the R-4A Zoning District, introduction of landscaping-related Best Management Practices and Low Impact Development, and limited retail sales events for Wholesale Nursery Operations.
· At the conclusion of the public hearing on September 24, the ZBA recommended approval of the Amendments per the attached “Exhibit A”.
· The Planning, Building and Zoning Committee approved a resolution recommending adoption of the proposed amendments pursuant to conducted a final review of the proposed text amendments on September 29; the Committee’s recommended modifications to “Exhibit A” are attached herewith as “Exhibit B”.
· On October 6, 2009 the PB&Z Committee approved a resolution recommending adoption of the proposed amendments.
