Amendment to 2012 Village of Fox Lake Watermain Project
Staff Summary
• The Village of Fox Lake is requesting to change the scope of their 2012 waterway improvement project. The initial project was for construction of water mains along Maple Ave and South Lake Street. The new project will replace existing fire hydrants that are in a state of disrepair.
• The new project will occur in the same census tract and is a CDBG eligible low/mod area.
• The new project scope is an eligible activity (03J Water/Sewer Improvements) and is listed as high priority in the 2010-2014 Consolidated Plan.
• The new project will not change the approved 2012 CDBG allocation of $97,369 but will change the amount of funds leveraged by the Village of Fox Lake from $172,000 to $24,342
• The Village of Fox Lake is unable to leverage the funds needed for the initial water main replacement project due to a revised budget and has adjusted their Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) to focus on existing infrastructure rather than expansion.
