WHEREAS, the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity has provided a grant under the Workforce Investment Act to the Lake County Workforce Development Department in the amount of $108,394; and
WHEREAS, the grant is for the period of June 1, 2010 to September 30, 2010, for a summer youth employment program through the Department of Natural Resources; and
WHEREAS, this funding is expected to provide summer employment for youth ages 16-24 at Zion Beach State park and the Chain of Lake State park; and
WHEREAS, an emergency appropriation in the amount of $108,394 is requested to be approved to allocate these funds into the Workforce Department’s budget and authorize acceptance of this grant.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that an emergency appropriation in the amount of $108,394 for the Workforce Development Department is hereby approved and that the WIA Youth Assistance Grant is hereby accepted. A chart of accounts is attached.
