• Lake County is completing a facility modernization of the Public Defender’s Office and desires to enter into a contract with Automated Logic-Chicago, Lisle, IL for installation of a Building Automation Control System for air handling controls.
• Invitations for bids were extended to seven vendors; sealed bids were received from six vendors and opened on February 11, 2009.
• Appin Associates, Lake County’s consultant for this project and the Lake County Project Manager, Jeremiah Varco, both recommended this award to Automated-Logic-Chicago.
• Automated Logic-Chicago, of Lisle IL, is the lowest responsive and responsible bidder, at $77,203 charging to account 101-1103265-82020-000-000-000-00000.

WHEREAS, in accordance with Section 4-102 of the Lake County Purchasing Ordinance, bids were called for by publication for a Building Automation Control System for the remodeled Public Defender’s Office; and
WHEREAS, sealed bids were received from six vendors and opened in the County Building, Waukegan, IL on Wednesday, February 11, 2009, at 2:00 p.m.,; and
WHEREAS, Automated Logic-Chicago, Lisle, IL is the lowest responsive and responsible bidder for a Building Automation Control System for the Public Defender’s Office in the amount of $77,203; the other bidders submitted bids ranging in the amounts of $86,080 to $131,520.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that the Purchasing Agent is hereby authorized to enter into a contract with Automated Logic-Chicago, Lisle IL in the amount of $77,203 charging account 101-1103265-82020-000-000-000-00000.
