Staff Summary
· There is a need to retain a qualified engineering firm to provide engineering services to replace the fire alarm system for the Courts Complex in Waukegan, IL.
· Lake County has a satisfactory relationship with HDR Architecture, Inc., Chicago, IL on similar work.
· Facilities Management staff received a proposal from HDR Architecture, Inc., provision of code review and design services, production of construction bidding documents, bidding assistance and construction administrative services and negotiated a fixed fee contract in the amount of $121,000 plus reimbursables.
· It is in the best interest of the County to enter into a contract with HDR Architecture, Inc., of Chicago, IL.
· This contract for engineering services is being made in accordance with Section 5-101(3) of the Lake County Purchasing Ordinance and the Local Government Professional Services Selection Act (50 ILCS 510/1 et seq).
· The contract will be charged to account 101-1103285-71150-000-000-000-XXXXX (Reporting Category to be determined).
