Staff Summary

•                     WIA Incentive Grant has been awarded by the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity to the Lake County Workforce Development Department.

•                     The Workforce Investment Act provides incentive funds to local areas based on exceeding the WIA performance measures.

•                     A grant in the amount of $8,482 has been awarded to Lake County for exceeding performance measures.

•                     These funds can be used for any allowable WIA activity.

•                     A Resolution authorizing an emergency appropriation needs to be executed in order to appropriate these funds into the Workforce Development Department budget.

Body

                     WHEREAS, the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity has awarded a Workforce Investment Act Incentive Grant to the Lake County Workforce Development Department; and

                     WHEREAS, the grant may be used for any allowable Workforce Investment Act activity; and

                     WHEREAS, it is necessary to appropriate these funds in the Workforce Development Department budget.

                     NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois that an emergency appropriation in the amount of $8,482 in the Lake County Workforce Development Department budget be authorized; and

                     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Lake County Workforce Development budget be modified to reflect the additional funds received.
