RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Lake County PASSAGE is a cooperative initiative of IDOT and Lake County to implement the federal initiative for the Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) in Lake County; and
WHEREAS, City of Highland Park, Lake County and the State of Illinois believe it would be beneficial to the safety and welfare of the motoring public if traffic signals situated at 26 intersections along various routes in the City of Highland Park could be modernized and interconnected with PASSAGE; and
WHEREAS, this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, at its meeting of November 18, 2008 authorized the execution of an agreement between Lake County and the City of Highland Park for costs of improvements for connection to Lake County PASSAGE associated with the traffic signals owned by the City of Highland Park; and
WHEREAS, Phase II engineering is required to utilize federal highway funds for the above-proposed improvements;
