R E S O L U T I O N

WHEREAS, Peterson Road, County Highway 20, is a designated route on the County highway system; and

WHEREAS, the free flow of traffic along Peterson Road is beneficial to the safety and welfare to the State of Illinois and the County as a whole; and

WHEREAS, the State of Illinois and Lake County believe it would be beneficial to the safety and welfare of the motoring public if Peterson Road, from Illinois Route 83 to US Route 45, could be improved; and

WHEREAS, said improved roadway will be utilized by trucks with load limits of 80,000 pounds as a designated Class II Truck Route; and

WHEREAS, IDOT has awarded $236,700 of TARP funds to offset cost of upgrading this highway to accommodate 80,000 pound trucks; and

WHEREAS, the State of Illinois and Lake County are desirous of entering into an agreement for the above proposed improvement, setting forth the terms and obligations to each agency.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by this Lake County Board, that the County Board Chair, the County Clerk and the County Engineer be authorized, and are hereby directed to execute an agreement on behalf of Lake County, pertaining to the financing of the above named improvement, a draft copy of which is attached hereto, and such authorization shall include any...
