· The Lake County State’s Attorney’s Office participated with the Lake County Sheriff’s Office in their grant application to the Office of Justice Programs Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) for the BJA FY09 Bulletproof Vest Partnership (BVP) program.
· Lake County was awarded the grant funding that provides reimbursement at a rate of 50% of the cost of bulletproof vests purchased between April 9, 2009 and September 30, 2011.
· The bulletproof vests are required equipment for investigations personnel in the State’s Attorney’s Office and 10 bulletproof vests are needed at a cost of $5,400.
· Offsetting revenue is available from the State’s Attorney’s Asset Forfeiture Fund to support the purchase.

RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The Lake County State’s Attorneys Office participated with the Lake County Sheriff’s Office in their grant application to the Office of Justice Programs Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) for the BJA FY09 Bulletproof Vest Partnership (BVP) program and the application was awarded grant funding;

WHEREAS, the grant provides reimbursement at a rate of 50% of the cost of bulletproof vests purchased between April 9, 2009 and September 30, 2011.

WHEREAS, the bulletproof vests are required equipment for investigations personnel in the State’s Attorneys Office and 10 vests are needed at a cost of $5,400;

WHEREAS, the paid invoice will be submitted to the Office of Justice Programs Bureau of Justice Assistance per grant agreement for 50% reimbursement.

WHEREAS, this purchase necessitates an emergency appropriation of $5,400 to provide for the costs of said purchase; and

WHEREAS, the full amount of offsetting revenue is available from the State’...
