Joint resolution approving the collective bargaining agreement with the Teamsters Local Union No. 714, as exclusive representative of the Law Enforcement Sergeants Division bargaining unit employees of the Lake County Sheriff's Office.
Staff Summary
· The definition of seniority changed from date sworn as a Deputy Sheriff to promotion date to the rank of Sergeant.
· Shift bidding based on seniority for the Sergeants assigned to the Highway Patrol Division was added.
· Clothing reimbursement for Sergeants assigned to the Criminal Investigations Division was raised to $1,500 from $1,000. Receipts are required for reimbursement.
· The promotional increase is 10.25%, to be paid at the time of promotion. Previously the contract had the promotional increase split to 5% on the date of promotion and 5% after 6 months of service as a Sergeant.

RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, the Teamsters Local Union No. 714 has been recognized as the sole and exclusive bargaining agent for the Law Enforcement for Sergeants Division employees of the Lake County Sheriff's Office; and
WHEREAS, a Collective Bargaining Agreement has been negotiated with the Teamsters Local Union No. 714, as the exclusive representative of the Law Enforcement Sergeants employees of the Lake County Sheriff's Office, consistent with the Illinois Public Labor Relations Act; and
WHEREAS, your Law and Judicial and Financial and Administrative Committee; have reviewed and approved said agreement.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that the County Board Chairman and the Lake County Sheriff are hereby authorized to sign the Collective Bargaining Agreement attached hereto and made a part of this Resolution.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this Agreement shall be effective from December 1, 2007 through November 30, 2010.
