Committee action to modify Contract #10014 for Consulting Services for a Tactical Interoperability Communications Plan.
Staff Summary
· Lake County has been awarded federal Homeland Security funding by the Illinois Emergency Management Agency and the Illinois Terrorism Task Force, through the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s Interoperable Emergency Communications Grant Program (IECGP) to improve the current status of interoperable communications in the area.
· In February, 2010, the Lake County Board authorized a contract with Lafayette Group to provide Consulting Services to develop and facilitate the implementation of a unified comprehensive Tactical Interoperable Communications Plan (TICP) in the amount of $70,000 from this grant.
· There is a need to issue Contract Modification #1 for to develop a Lake County Field Operations Guide (FOG) that will condense critical information from the TICP into a reference guide that can be carried and used by first responders in the field.
· This change is germane to the original contract as signed and is in the best interests of the County and authorized by law.
· This modification will cost the County $12,000.
