·      Winchester House and the State's Attorney's Office have searched Lake County probate and property records, but have not been able to identify assets or open estates from which this debt could be collected.

·      Given the age of this debt and the unlikelihood of collecting on it, Winchester House recommends writing off $385,986.30.

WHEREAS, Winchester House has $385,986.30 in uncollectible bills at this time; and

WHEREAS, this debt, which has accumulated over ten years, is owed by former residents who are now deceased, current residents with no resources, or discharged residents; and

WHEREAS, Winchester House and the State's Attorney's Office have searched Lake County probate and property records, but have not been able to identify assets or open estates from which this debt could be collected.

WHEREAS, given the age of this debt and the unlikelihood of collecting on it, Winchester House would like to write-off $385,986.30 in uncollectible receivables.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that Winchester House is authorized to write off up to $385,986.30 in uncollectible receivables.
