•                     Before right-of-way acquisitions can proceed, an appropriation of $750,000 of the ¼% Sales Tax for Transportation and Public Safety funds is necessary.

Body

WHEREAS, Peterson Road (County Highway 20) is a designated route on the County Highway system; and

WHEREAS, it would be beneficial for the safety and welfare of the motoring public if Peterson Road from IL Route 83 to US Route 45 could be improved by widening and reconstruction; and

WHEREAS, Lake County by and through its Division of Transportation, is in the process of preparing preliminary plans and right-of-way plats; and

WHEREAS, Lake County by and through its Division of Transportation, now needs to obtain title commitments, property appraisals, advance property acquisitions, and incur other advance right-of-way costs associated with the proposed improvement.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that there is hereby appropriated $750,000 of the ¼% Sales Tax for Transportation and Public Safety funds for title commitments, property appraisals, advance property acquisitions, and other advance right-of-way costs associated with the proposed widening and reconstruction of Peterson Road (County Highway 20) from IL Route 83 to US Route 45 and designated as Section 07-00098-17-WR.
