* In 1971, the Lake County Division of Transportation acquired right-of-way at the northeast corner of the intersection of Washington Street and Illinois Route 21 for corridor improvements along Washington Street.
* There is a 3,872 square feet (0.0889 acres) portion of this right-of-way that is not needed for current or future transportation purposes.
* The adjacent property owner is willing to pay $21,500 for the property, which is fair market value based on a property valuation.
* The County Board may authorize the vacation of county highway right-of-way in accordance with State statute.

RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Washington Street, County Highway 45, is a designated route on the county highway system; and
WHEREAS, the Lake County Division of Transportation previously acquired property at the intersection of Washington Street at Illinois Route 21 for corridor improvements along Washington Street; and
WHEREAS, there is a 3,872 square feet (0.0889 acres) portion of right-of-way at the northeast corner of this intersection that is not needed for current or future transportation purposes; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to 605 ILCS 5/5-109, the County Board may authorize the vacation of county highway right-of-way; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to 605 ILCS 5/5-109, the vacation will not be effective until the adjacent property owner provides fair market compensation for the right-of-way, which has been valued at $21,500; and
WHEREAS, a Deed of Vacation and Plat of Vacation have been prepared to complete the vacation, draft copies of which are attached hereto.
