· The Division of Transportation was granted 100% funding for retrofitting of 16 vehicles with diesel oxidation catalysts and closed crankcase ventilation emission systems.
· Invitations for bid for this work were sent to 28 vendors and two responses were received.
· Chicago International Trucks, Grayslake, IL is the sole responsive, responsible bidder in the amount of $62,156.64 and one (1) other bidder submitted a “no bid”.
· The price is reasonable and acceptable, and in conformance with the Clean Diesel Grant.
· The purchase will be charged to the Division of Transportation Operations Fund Budget.

R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Lake County through its Division of Transportation has been awarded $70,216 in an Illinois Clean Diesel Grant from the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency; and
WHEREAS, the grant will be used to retrofit 16 fleet trucks with diesel oxidation catalysts and closed crankcase ventilation emission systems; and
WHEREAS, Lake County, at its board meeting of August 10, 2010 adopted the acceptance and execution of the Illinois Clean Diesel Grant from the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with Section 5-102 of the Lake County Purchasing Ordinance, bids were called for by publication for the emission systems and installation; and
WHEREAS, subsequent to said publication, invitations for bid were sent to 28 vendors and two (2) responses were received and opened on August 19, 2010; and
WHEREAS, Chicago International Trucks, Grayslake, IL is the sole responsive, responsible bidder in the amount of $62,156.64; one (1) other bidder submitted a “no bid;” and
