* The Lake County Department of Public Works (LCPW) operates the Wildwood Water System, which serves a population of 14,000, as well as several learning institutions.
* The water system controls systems are approximately 35 years old and need to be replaced to properly integrate with the Gages Lake Water Tower and the current Supervisory Controls and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems to continue to provide reliable service.
* The County received bids from two contractors for this controls systems work ranging from $746,300 to $748,000.
* The award of this contract is recommended to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder, Boller Construction Company, Inc., of Waukegan, Illinois, in the amount of $746,300. The department is also seeking an emergency appropriation of $746,300 for project construction.

RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, the Lake County Department of Public Works owns, operates and maintains 12 public water systems throughout the County including the Wildwood water system; and

WHEREAS, the controls systems within the Wildwood water system are approximately 35 years old and need to be upgraded to properly function with the Gages Lake Water Tower and the Supervisory Controls and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems in order to continue to provide reliable service; and

WHEREAS, in accordance with the Lake County Purchasing Ordinance, bids were called for by publication for the Wildwood Water Systems Controls Improvements Project; and

WHEREAS, Boller Construction Company, Inc. is the lowest responsive, responsible bidder in the amount of $746,300.
