Staff Summary
· Lake County Public Works operates and maintains over 150 water and wastewater facilities, split into three regions, across the County.
· These facilities require differing levels of automated control and data acquisition is currently done manually.
· The Department has created a SCADA master plan which details necessary improvements to bring a SCADA system online and provide monitoring and data acquisition electronically.
· The implementation of the master plan will be a multiyear, multiphase project costing approximately $1,800,000.
· Phase I of this project involves the installation of radios, antennas, towers, and the associated electrical upgrades at approximately 45 facilities.
· The County received bids from three contractors for this work ranging from $669,357 to $909,179.77.
· Award of this contract is recommended to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder, Wunderlich-Malec Services, Inc. in the amount of $669,357.

WHEREAS, the County of Lake (County) owns, operates and maintains over 150 water and wastewater facilities throughout the County, which require differing levels of automated control and data acquisition; and
WHEREAS, the County has developed a master plan for Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) improvements that incorporates a multi-year, multi-phase project plan; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Public Works has developed and designed the SCADA Improvements Phase 1 Project that will install and implement SCADA improvements at 45 facilities in the north and central regions of County; and
