· LCDOT Building “B” (Heavy Duty Repair Shop) Replacement: Appropriation.
· The Heavy Duty Repair Shop will be replaced to improve the efficiency and reliability of large truck and heavy duty equipment, maintenance, and repair operations.
· The renovation will also include upgrades to the electrical, HVAC, fire alarm, lighting, and equipment lift systems.
· This improvement is included in the LCDOT 2013 Highway Improvement program.
· This resolution appropriates $2,750,000 of Motor Fuel Tax funds.

R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Lake County Division of Transportation is desirous of replacing and reconfiguring the Heavy Duty Equipment Repair Shop on its Libertyville campus to improve efficiency and reliability; and
WHEREAS, it would be beneficial to the safety and welfare of the motoring public if Building “B”, The Heavy Duty Repair Shop, could be reconstructed to extend and reconfigure the repair bays, upgrade the electrical, fire alarm, HVAC, lighting, and equipment lift systems; and
WHEREAS, a feasibility study has been completed, and the architectural and engineering designs are complete with estimates of costs for the construction of this improvement; and
WHEREAS, before the construction letting can be held, an appropriation of funds is needed.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by this Lake County Board, that there is hereby appropriated $2,750,000 of Motor Fuel Tax funds for the replacement of the Heavy Duty Repair Shop (Building “B”) at the Division of Transportation campus in Libertyville to support highway maintenance operations, and designated as Section 11-00214-22-MG.
