RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, the Illinois Attorney General's Office has renewed a 12-month continuation of the Violent Crime Victim Assistance (VCVA) grant for the Lake County Children's Advocacy Center (LCCAC) program to provide Spanish speaking forensic interviews and advocacy services to child victims of crime during the period of July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2026; and

WHEREAS, the grant funds of $81,000 are awarded to the LCCAC, an Illinois not-for-profit as a charitable organization subject to Illinois' Charitable Trust Act and will provide the salary and partial benefits for the existing Bilingual Victim Advocate/Forensic Interviewer; and

WHEREAS, it is necessary to authorize the renewal as described herein.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that the Program Agreement with the Illinois Attorney General's Office for the Lake County Children's Advocacy Center to provide forensic interviews and advocacy to child victims as set forth by the National Children's Alliance Standards, for the period of July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2026, is hereby accepted; and
