RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Bonnie Thomson Carter was elected to the Lake County Board and the Lake County Forest Preserve District Board in 1996; and
WHEREAS, during her 20 years of service, Bonnie Thomson Carter served as a member of several County Board Committees, including the Financial and Administrative Committee, the Legislative and Intergovernmental Affairs Committee, the Taxation, Election, and Records Committee, the Ethics Committee, the Law and Judicial Committee (former Chair), the Planning, Building, and Zoning Committee (former Chair), and the Public Works and Transportation Committee (former and current Chair); and
WHEREAS, her leadership on these committees helped fulfill the mission and realize the goals of the Lake County Board; and
WHEREAS, Bonnie Thomson Carter also served on several committees for the Lake County Forest Preserve District Board, including the Land Preservation and Acquisition Committee, the Rules Committee, the Preservation Foundation, the Planning and Restoration Committee (current Chair), and as former President of the Forest Preserve District Board; and
WHEREAS, Bonnie Thomson Carter has been a champion for the preservation and protection of natural resources throughout the county, as evidenced by her 16 years on the Stormwater Management Commission and her membership in the Governor's Water Resource Advisory Committee, the Northwest Water Planning Alliance, the Northwest Region Sanitary District Advisory Committee, the Illinois Association of Conservation and Forest Preserve Districts, and the Illinois Nature Conservancy; and
