Staff Summary
· The development and submission of the five-year 2010 - 2014 Housing and Community Development Consolidated Plan is a necessary component to receiving U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) funds for housing and community development activities. Copies of the current “Draft” 2010 - 2014 Housing and Community Development Consolidated Plan have been distributed.
· This joint resolution approves the 2010 - 2014 Housing and Community Development Consolidated Plan, as recommended by the Community Development Commission, that identifies the Needs, Goals, and Strategy Statements for the use of federally funded Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), Home Investment Partnerships (HOME), and Emergency Shelter Grant (ESG) Program funds from May 1, 2010 through April 30, 2014.
· This joint resolution also authorizes the County Board Chairman or her designee to execute the necessary correspondence to distribute the 2010 - 2014 Housing and Community Development Consolidated Plan to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, Lake County municipalities and townships, and various for-profit and non-profit housing and community development agencies in Lake County.
· The 2010 - 2014 Housing and Community Development Consolidated Plan must be submitted to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development after the County Board’s approval of March 16, 2010.
