Resolution recognizing the contributions of Pamela Newton upon the completion of her service as a Member of the Lake County Board.
Body
WHEREAS, Pamela O. Newton has served as a member of the Lake County Board, representing District 18, from December 1992 until June 2009; and
WHEREAS, Pam Newton has brought her experience and her knowledge of and interest in local government to bear on a variety of Committees and activities while serving on the County Board; and
WHEREAS, in recognition of these abilities, Pam Newton was selected to serve as Chair of the Planning, Building and Zoning Committee from 1996 to 1998 and from 2006 to 2009; Vice-Chair of the Planning, Building and Zoning Committee from 2000 - 2008; Vice-Chair of the Public Works and Transportation Committee from 1998 - 2000; and Vice-Chair of the Intergovernmental Affairs Committee from 1992 - 1996; and
WHEREAS, Pam Newton is a member of the National Association of Counties Board of Director’s and as a strong supporter of environmental and green initiatives, served as Chair of the National Association of Counties Green Government Advisory Board and Vice-Chair of the NACo Environment, Energy and Land Use Committee; and
WHEREAS, during her service on the Lake County Board, Pam Newton has also served as a member of the following committees: Intergovernmental Affairs, Law and Judicial, Public Service, Planning and Zoning, Public Works and Transportation, Planning, Building and Zoning and Rules; and
WHEREAS, Pam Newton served as an alternate member of the Solid Waste Agency of Lake County and was a former member of the Northeastern Illinois Planning Commission and the Stormwater Management Commission.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that we do hereby recognize and commend Pam Newton for her record of public service as a member of the Lake County Board; and
