The Health Department received an extension to this grant, with an additional $32,000 in funding for the period of January 1, 2026, through December 31, 2026, which has not been previously appropriated because the grant resources were approved after the County’s adoption of the Fiscal Year 2026 budget. Funding supports a contractual peer support worker, supervisory oversight, travel, existing staff salary and fringe benefits and program supplies to enhance STI/DIS workforce capacity and service delivery. The grant will be administered in accordance with the terms and conditions of the award.

To approve the additional funds from the Illinois Department of Public Health Local Health Department Disease Intervention Specialist Workforce Development Support Grant funding, and emergency appropriate $32,000 for Fiscal Year 2026.
