RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, said traffic enforcement campaigns held in FY2017 - 2018 have led to a total of 1,168 citations being issued, a reduction of fatal accidents in Lake County in 2017 compared to 2016; and,
WHEREAS, the Lake County Sheriff's Office believes that continuing to conduct these traffic enforcement campaigns in FY2018 will continue to keep the roadways safe; and,
WHEREAS, said grants will fund the overtime costs associated with conducting these traffic enforcement campaigns; and,
WHERAS, the Law and Judicial Committee approved submitting the grant application for SAIN 343-5727 at their January 9, 2018 meeting (Agenda Item # 18-0013); and,
WHERAS, the Financial and Administrative Committee approved the submitting the grant application for SAIN 343-5727 at their January 10, 2018 meeting (Agenda Item #18-0013.)
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that the Lake County Sheriff's Office accept Funding Opportunity FFY18 Highway Safety Program Grant (SAIN 343-5727) and the emergency appropriation of the grant amount of $8,636.40 for Fiscal Year 2018.
