Lake County Health Department and Community Health Center received an increase in funding through the Illinois Department of Public Health, Comprehensive Health Protection, Tick Surveillance grant in the amount of $8,000. The period of performance is from July 1, 2024, to June 30, 2025. $5,593 will be appropriated in LCFY24 and the difference was accounted for in the LCFY25 budget. The purpose is to conduct active environmental tick surveillance, submit collected ticks for pathogen testing, and provide public awareness of tickborne disease. This will fund supplies and offset existing staff salaries and fringe benefits.

To approve the Illinois Department of Public Health, Comprehensive Health Protection, Tick Surveillance grant funding of $8,000 and emergency appropriate $5,593 for FY24.
