· The selected firm of Gewalt Hamilton Associates, Inc., Vernon Hills, Illinois, is proceeding with the Phase II design engineering services for the improvement to the traffic control signals situated at ten intersections along Grand Avenue from IL Rte. 131 to Sheridan Road.
· It is necessary to expand Phase II design engineering services to provide for a preliminary environmental site assessment and coordination of signal standards.
· This resolution authorizes the execution of a supplemental agreement with Gewalt Hamilton Associates, Inc., Vernon Hills, Illinois.
· This resolution provides a supplemental appropriation of $10,000 of Matching Tax funds for these engineering services designated as Section 08-00279-00-TL.

R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Grand Avenue is a state route for which the City of Waukegan provides signal maintenance; and
WHEREAS, it would be beneficial to the safety and welfare of the motoring public if the traffic control signals situated at ten intersections along Grand Avenue between IL Rte. 131 and Sheridan Road could be modernized and interconnected; and
WHEREAS, the City of Waukegan and Lake County have entered into an agreement for the improvement and maintenance of the traffic control signals along Grand Avenue between IL Rte. 131 and Sheridan Road, approved at the June 10, 2008, County Board meeting; and
