Joint resolution approving an intergovernmental agreement for the provision of educational services at the Depke Juvenile Justice Center.

Staff Summary

·      This agreement is between the Lake County Regional Superintendent of Schools, the County of Lake, the Chief Judge of the Nineteenth Judicial Circuit, Adlai E. Stevenson High School District #125 and Lincolnshire-Prairie View District #103.

·      The purpose of this Agreement is to provide quality educational services and for the County to receive state funding for these programs provided for school age children residing at the Lake County Hulse Juvenile Detention Center.

·      The Agreement shall commence on July 1, 2013 and continue until June 30, 2015, renewable for three (3) additional one (1) year periods.

Body

      WHEREAS, the educational services program at the Depke Juvenile Justice Complex is provided pursuant to an intergovernmental agreement between the Lake County Regional Superintendent of Schools, the County of Lake, the Chief Judge of the Nineteenth Judicial Circuit, Adlai E. Stevenson High School District #125 and Lincolnshire-Prairie View District #103; and

      WHEREAS, the agreement shall be for a period of two (2) years, commencing on July 1, 2013 and continuing thereafter until June 30, 2015.  By mutual agreement, the parties may renew this agreement for three (3) additional one (1) year periods; and

      WHEREAS, the Regional Superintendent of Schools, the Chief Judge, Adlai E. Stevenson High School District #125 and Lincolnshire-Prairie view District #103 recommend that the attached agreement, which has been updated to reflect current policies and procedures, be approved.

      NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that the attached Joint Agreement for the Provision of Educational Services at the Robert W. Depke Juvenile Justice Center is hereby approved.
