R E S O L U T I O N

WHEREAS, the Lake County Division of Transportation, LCDOT, completed a culvert inspection in 2010 which identified 18 culverts needing a detailed engineering assessment for a repair of replacement strategy; and

WHEREAS, Gewalt Hamilton Associates, Inc., Gurnee, Illinois, was hired in November of 2010 to complete a Phase I preliminary engineering study to perform the said detailed engineering assessment; and

WHEREAS, subsequently an additional four culverts were added to the study by the LCDOT; and

WHEREAS, the results of the Phase I preliminary engineering study recommends that eight culverts can be repaired or rehabilitated in 2011after Phase II design engineering is completed and the remaining 14 culverts can be repaired or rehabilitated in 2012 after more detailed Phase II design engineering is completed; and

WHEREAS, it is advisable that a consultant engineering firm be employed to provide said Phase II design engineering services for all 22 culverts; and
